Dear Families:
Enclosed with this week’s Wednesday
envelope are several flyers, please take a look at them.
- Wreaths & Poinsettias are still
available, however we have a very limited number. So don’t delay, order yours
today! (The holidays are just
around the corner.)
- Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for
Saturday, December 6th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.. The past two years have been such a
success, please help this year’s 7th and 8th grade raise money for
their trip. Ho ho hope to see
you there!
- Our first Mathfax was last week and the
children did excellent. Thanks
to all of those who turned in their permission forms. For those of you who may have misplaced
yours, another is enclosed.
Please sign and return to the office immediately. Thank you.
WHAT’S NEW AT WCES?
Wheeling Catholic M-Athletes...that’s right,
M-Athletes! Once a week all students
in grades 4th through 8th participate in a timed test of 100 multiplication
facts (1-12). Based on the time it
takes to finish and the number of problems correct the children earn
accomplishment beads for their M-Athlete necklace. Each week there is a “Head Cougar”. This week’s “Head Cougar” is Laura
Schubert who finished in 2:05 minutes and got all but two problems
correct! This is a great way for the
students to reinforce their basic math skills. Even students who struggle with certain
areas of math problem solving can do very well with the M-Athletes
tests. This is just one more way
that Wheeling Catholic goes above and beyond to reach for success. (Thanks to Mrs. Tracie Seivertson for
this wonderful idea!)
PARENTS ARE ASKING?
This week’s Parent’s Are Asking ...” Are the 7th &
8th Graders planning any fundraisers for their trip?” Funny this should be the question of
the week. The 7th & 8th Grade
classes are planning at least two significant fundraisers to raise money
for their trip. These fundraiser
would be the “Breakfast with Santa” and a “Spaghetti Dinner”. Please see the enclosed flyer concerning
the details of the “Breakfast with Santa” and look for more information
concerning the “Spaghetti Dinner” in upcoming newsletters.
